Why is France?
为何是法国？In October, we ushered in the Shenzhen International Photography Week, which first started in the United States, and was biennially held in Germany, and then in France.
Why is France? Because France is the home to photography, as it was the Frenchman Daguer who made a great invention — photography in 1939, making all human beings enjoy the joy brought by photography.
When it comes to the world history of photography, the history of French photography will inevitably be spoken of, and in the history of French photography, there are some figure deserving being put emphasis on, including Eugene Atget, Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Willy Ronis, Robert Capa, Marc Riboud, William Klein, Raymond Depardon, Josef Koudelka, Sarah Moon, Sebastiao Salgado, Elliott Erwitt, Edouard Boubat, Jean-loup Sieff and Lucien Clergue The names of Edward Buba, Jerup Siew, and Lucien Clegg.
Today, it is our honour to hold the French Photography Collection Exhibition (1845–1995) at the Shenzhen Art Museum, and to appreciate the classic works of famous French photographers. I feel sincerely delighted that the exhibition will be held in China, and I wish it a great success!

又到了金秋十月，又一次迎来了“深圳国际摄影周“，第一届我们选择了美国；第二届我们选择了德国；这一次，我们选择了法国。
为何是法国？因为，法国是摄影的故乡，1939年，法国人达盖尔先生宣布了一个伟大的发明：摄影术，正是这一发明，令全人类都在享受着摄影带来的快乐。
我们谈论世界摄影史，必然会谈到法国摄影史，而法国摄影史中，尤金·阿杰、罗伯特.杜瓦诺、亨利·卡蒂埃·布列松、维利·罗尼、罗伯特·卡帕、马克.吕布、威廉.克莱因、雷蒙.德帕东、约瑟夫·寇德卡、莎拉·莫恩，塞巴斯蒂安·萨尔加多、艾略特·厄威特、爱德华·布巴、杰鲁普·西埃夫、吕西安·克莱格等名字是无法绕开的。
今天，我们有幸在深圳美术馆迎来“法国摄影历史收藏展（1845–1995）”，能够近距离观赏法国摄影巨擘的经典原作，实在是我们的莫大幸事，我为这个展览能来到中国而感到由衷的喜悦，预祝展览圆满成功！
